Temsunol 0.4 mg (Tamsulosin) is used to manage symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition where the prostate gland becomes enlarged in men. It belongs to a class of medicines known as alpha-blockers, which help improve urinary flow by relaxing specific muscles.
This medicine provides relief from various BPH symptoms, including frequent urination (especially at night), urgent need to urinate, difficulty starting or stopping the urine stream, weak or interrupted urine flow, and the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. While it effectively manages these symptoms, it does not reduce the actual size of the enlarged prostate.
