Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is a medicine that helps to control high blood glucose (sugar) levels. It helps get rid of extra glucose from your body through urine. Lowering blood glucose levels is an essential part of managing diabetes. If you can control the level, you will reduce the risk of getting any of the serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems and loss of limbs. This medicine will reduce the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease if you have type 2 diabetes and already have cardiovascular disease.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

• Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level)
• Cough
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Constipation
• Urinary tract infection
• Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages)
• Genital fungal infection

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Empagliflozin and Linagliptin. Empagliflozin works by removing excess glucose from your body through urine. Linagliptin works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin.
