Ulcerative colitis is a form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation and ulcers in the colon and rectum. Pentasa 1gm Suppository helps reduce the inflammation in the intestinal lining by targeting the disease locally. Reduction in inflammation promotes mucosal healing and causes symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and rectal bleeding to subside.

Remove the wrapper from the suppository before inserting it. Keep lying down for about 15 minutes after insertion so that the suppository does not come out before it melts.

Pentasa 1gm Suppository is an aminosalicylate. It works directly on the site of inflammation (swelling) in the lower parts of the large intestine (colon and rectum) to provide rapid relief from attacks of ulcerative colitis. It suppresses the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause intestinal inflammation, thereby reducing ulceration, bleeding, and painful symptoms.
